Cardiff Bay Visitors Centre
A tubular structure formed in plywood panels supported off steel rings at 2.4m centres, carried out in a parabolic shape to keep bending moments almost equal. The structure is covered in a PVC membrane. The building was suspended out of the ground with the intention of moving it to a second location due to a short term lease on its original site. The structure was therefore designed to be moved on a multi-directional lifting system.
